Bowdon Preparatory School for Girls is an independent, non-denominational day school for girls aged 3-11. It is situated in Altrincham in Cheshire and has 330 pupils. It was opened in 1983 by Mrs Tan, who ran it as a proprietorial school for 30 years until her retirement in 2011.
Originally based in Stamford Road, Bowdon, the current premises were acquired in 2011 when a secondary school closed down; Bowdon Prep, with the help of a charitable trust set up by parents and staff, moved into the former school building and the current headteacher was appointed.
