We are looking to recruit an Editor for the Primary Curriculum and Commodities team who will support the whole Division. The successful candidate will have a passion for own developed products and has the ability to elevate a product by creating rich, educational content that enhances and differentiates product from our competitors and supports our brand message of educational expertise.

The role will report directly to the Head of Department and will be primarily responsible for creating a Content Program for relevant TTS resources within their Division and that the content is suitable and relevant for print, social media, email and our online shop window etc.

The successful candidate must be passionate about education and resources that make a difference to a child’s learning and development every day in a multitude of educational environments.

Although predominantly based in Kirkby in Ashfield, flexibility is a must as travel is required.


Job Purpose:

The Editor will take responsibility for the delivery of the agreed Content Programme for the Division and will work alongside colleagues within Product Management, NPD, Direct Marketing, Creative, Digital and International Distribution teams.

You will also spend a certain amount of time with our varied customer base to ensure we understand their requirements and how we can delight them at all times, thinking product content, range, campaign and undiscovered opportunity at all times. At product content level you will ‘reach for the stars’ to ensure our global market leading proposition.


Key Responsibilities:

Working collaboratively with the Head of Department, NPD and Product Marketing teams you will create the monthly and annual program of content to differentiate our resources from our competitors.

A clear understanding is required for each product chosen on what educational material is required to best sell our products; thinking both UK and globally; this material could encompass imagery, video, copy, lesson planners, schemes of work, blogs, suggestions of how to use the product to its best potential etc. and show the wealth of its possibilities; all to ensure our customer receives a product that will truly delight and supports our brand message of educational expertise.

In terms of how the product is marketed you will work alongside our Direct Marketing team and our Digital team to support them with required content

Understand our TTS developed product categorisation and product launch plan to enable relevant content

You will also work alongside external subject experts and TTS champions to create testimonials, videos and webinars where applicable

You will analyse performance of the content program, understanding the successes and challenges to create future programmes learning from the initial launches

Working alongside our customer base you will truly understand what is needed in the classroom to make TTS resources come alive for the practitioner/teacher and to make their lives easier and ultimately raise achievement within their classrooms

You will be targeted with a number of TTS own developed ideas.


Desirable Skills and Experience:

Passion and enthusiasm for helping young children to love learning

Knowledge of the Primary curriculum

Knowledge of what makes good product content

The ability to write excellent content and direct video to convey the required product message whilst maintaining brand integrity

Must have the ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time

Be able to analyse data and to react accordingly

Work to tight deadlines and deliver with excellence

Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to gain trust and build lasting business and customer relationships at all levels

Confident and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Driver with full, clean licence
