Education Standards and Effectiveness Officer – SEND
Ref: 04-3380
The Local Authority has a duty to promote the educational achievement of children with special educational needs. This includes the statutory requirement to monitor their educational progress and report on their attainment and achievement.
In accordance with this duty and in preparation for the area wide inspections, we are working with all partners to embed good practice as stated in the current SEN Code of Practice.
In order to increase our capacity and to enable best practice to be shared, an exciting and challenging opportunity is available for a suitably qualified SENCO to join Slough’s Children and Learning section. This role will assist us in our statutory responsibilities in delivering the SEN Code of Practice in helping school based SENCOs prepare for the SEND area inspection and more specifically coordinate a SENCO network for Slough.
The role will provide the opportunity for a lead SENCO to join the Education Standards and Effectiveness Service and support across the SEND Service. The successful candidate will provide a standardised approach of best practice across Slough and will help to ensure improved Outcomes for children and young people. A key function for this role will be to coordinate a Slough borough wide SENDCO network, and the successful applicant will be resilient, dynamic and highly skilled.
This represents an exciting development for SEND in Slough which will benefit schools and all pupils.
