We are looking to recruit an experienced Educational Support Assistant to join our Learning Support Team. In this individual we want to see drive and determination, someone who is proactive, a self-starter, who is enthusiastic and above all enjoys working with young people. As an Educational Support Assistant you will work collaboratively with our SENCo and Teachers to provide support to our students to help them identify barriers to learning and work with them to achieve their full potential.
This role will give the right person a chance to make it their own, be a key part of a busy Secondary School and make a real difference to the lives of our students.
This is an exciting time to join Spen Valley High School as we build upon our many strengths and develop a truly coherent provision for our students. You will work alongside a team of highly professional & dedicated staff who are welcoming, open-minded and supportive. It is a particularly exciting time to join the school as we are undertaking a whole school review of our curriculum to ensure our students will leave us and be able to ‘stand shoulder to shoulder’ with any other young person, from any other background.
When joining Spen Valley you are entering a supportive environment where we pride ourselves in offering a wide range of CPD opportunities. Being a member of The Red Kite Alliance, we receive support, advice and training from some of the most successful schools in Yorkshire. We encourage our staff, not only to join in with various activities throughout the school, to be proactive and come up with new and fresh ideas to engage and enthuse both our students and staff.
Staff Benefits include:
- Employee Healthcare (including physiotherapy referrals, counselling and lifestyle advice)
- Pension (West Yorkshire Pension Fund)
- Staff Supervision (a personal & confidential counselling & support service)
- Varied Staff Wellbeing Initiatives
For more information on this role please see the Job Description and Context Sheet.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff are subject to an enhanced DBS check. A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
