  • The implementation of a shared vision for leveraging educational technology to improve learning and teaching
  • The use of web-based educational strategies and platforms
  • Instructional teams (departments/teams/grade levels) to share information, identify instructional strategies, and plan learning experiences that leverage educational technology
  • The development and continual revision of a meaningful, relevant and articulated digital citizenship curriculum, in conjunction with counselors and teachers
  • Students and parents regarding pertinent issues in educational technology
  • The ICT Director on technical issues within the division
  • The ICT budget development process
  • The production of yearly ICT technical and curricular plans
  • Teacher understanding and development of STEAM integration in the curriculum
  • Current programs and teachers working in the ES
  • Integration of STEAM experiences as new programs and curricula are developed
  • Development of programs related to STEAM and Design
  • Culture of Innovation and R & D at ISB
  • Supports Professional Learning by:
  1. providing professional learning for staff and administrators with a focus on sound pedagogy, aligned with school based instructional initiatives/practices, with the goal of moving them across a continuum of pedagogical competence towards independent, meaningful, embedded use of technology for learning
  2. conducting professional learning for staff in identified areas of learning related to STEAM and Design
  3. identifying areas of growth for staff in order to further develop and strengthen teaching methods and ideas 
  4. co-planning and facilitating STEAM integration at the building level with teachers
  5. any other school identified areas for growth or development

Develops:

  • A shared vision, in conjunction with the Office of Learning, of the transformative nature of educational technology and design processes
  • Units and programs with teachers to integrate Educational Technology and STEAM experiences into the curriculum
  • Understanding of the co-teaching and co-planning model for the implementation and inclusion of Educational Technology and STEAM elements in the curriculum

Attends:

  • Learning Connections Team meetings (Office of Learning group)  
  • Educational Technology meetings 
  • ES leadership team meetings as needed   
  • Faculty meetings as needed  
  • Grade level team meetings as needed
  • Curriculum and Professional Learning meetings as needed  

Collaborates with:

  • Educational Technology Coordinator
  • Director of Learning, Assistant Director of Learning, and curriculum support positions on school-wide initiatives and professional learning for faculty and staff
  • MSHS Educational Technology and Design Facilitators to ensure that programs and skills are articulated and complementary where appropriate
  • Building level-leaders on all aspects related to the STEAM and Design program
  • Counselors to develop appropriate curriculum to support digital citizenship

Supervises:

  • Educational Technology & Design Teaching Assistants

Engages:

  • In professional learning to support their own learning and the various initiatives of the school
  • In positive relationships to continue the development, implementation, and assessment of the ISB curriculum and school-wide teaching and learning priorities

Skills & Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

  • A degree in Education and current teaching certification 
  • Further certification related to educational technology is desired
  • 5 years of successful classroom teaching experience
  • Significant successful achievements in the purposeful and innovative infusion of technology to enhance/transform learning and teaching
  • Successful experience with curriculum development and collaboration within a Professional Learning Community
  • Knowledgeable of L21 initiatives as well as successful experience with UbD curriculum design, infusion of educational technology standards and benchmarks into curriculum plans, curriculum mapping, differentiated instruction and effective assessment practices
  • Demonstrates professional knowledge, skills and abilities in content, pedagogical, and technological areas as well as adult learning and leadership
  • Success in planning and conducting professional learning programs at the school or district level focused on the infusion of technology to support learning and teaching
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, interpersonal and planning skills
