The SABDEN Multi Academy Trust, based across East Sussex, is an aspirational and supportive Trust, aiming to create a warm, caring, stable, supportive environment in which all pupils and staff feel safe. We are three special schools, a secure children’s home, a large countywide alternative provision and a vocationally focussed Free School. We strive to discover success through learning, self-belief and achievement.  Pupils are empowered to take responsibility through a personalised curriculum supported by secure relationships with staff and strong partnerships with parents and carers.

Lansdowne Secure Children’s Home and School is located in Halisham and is part of the SABDEN Multi Academy Trust and in working partnership with ESCC. We offer young people in crisis a safe, therapeutic and physically secure environment and provide a full-time education designed to re-engage residents in their learning. The school team is experienced, supportive and committed to delivering the highest quality learning experience.

Following a recently completed building and expansion project, Lansdowne School has created an exciting new role: Enrichment and Learning Support Worker. This is an opportunity to support our young people in building the emotional resilience to engage successfully in life and learning.

We are seeking applicants who are enthusiastic, able to work collaboratively within the small school team, to motivate and support the education of young people, as well as liaising with the home staff to meet the young person’s social and emotional needs. You will be resilient and resourceful, able to remain calm in sometimes challenging situations; you will appreciate working in a structured environment with learning and enjoyment at the heart of all that we do.

The successful candidate will have the responsibility of coordinating our Thrive based practice within school and building links with Thrive Practitioners within the care team.

Lansdowne offers an opportunity to work in a holistic setting with extremely vulnerable young people. The school team is experienced, supportive and committed to delivering the highest quality learning experience for the residents.

The successful candidate will be joining a Trust and school that continues to be ambitious in its drive to improve outcomes for our pupils. You will join a highly dedicated and professional staff team and be part of a supportive working and learning environment, where your professional development is highly valued.
