Situated on the beautiful Moray Coast in the North of Scotland, Gordonstoun is widely recognised as the world leader in character education. We have a co-educational community of over 500 students aged from 6-18, who are predominantly full boarding and are drawn from over 40 countries. . 

We are looking for an individual to support and motivate students to improve their emotional health by helping them develop self-care skills, build resilience and better utilise community resources. To be motivated by the potential to make a difference to the lives of young people, and have a strong understanding of individuals with multifaceted needs. To use person-centred and relationship-based practice to support students to achieve goals and progress against their emotional health and address specific barriers that are important to them such as social interaction, family and futures. To support students to achieve progress against the goals and issues that are important to them. To deliver a range of targeted and evidence-based interventions to maximise emotional wellbeing and sustain recovery.

We are looking for someone who can use a range of person centred, and strengths-based techniques to produce personalised and appropriately sequenced action and support plans for students. Someone to directly deliver a toolbox of evidence-based interventions which improves emotional health and overall wellbeing. Someone who is able to use pre and post therapy interventions to maximise recovery and improve the person’s experience of emotional health. We are looking for someone to provide coaching support to individuals on a 1:1 or group basis giving information, guidance, advice and support.

Relevant qualification in emotional coaching/guidance.

About Gordonstoun

The School
Gordonstoun is known for the wide range of activities that it provides for girls and boys throughout the School's 6-18 age range. It has first-class facilities for these activities which include, in addition to all the normal subjects and many outdoor pursuits, expeditions, seamanship and a wide variety of rescue services.
The creative life of the School is vibrant and well developed, with Drama, Art, Music and Technology central to the life and ethos of Gordonstoun. There are opportunities for staff to contribute both in the role of expert or as an enthusiastic amateur.
Staff are deeply committed and, during term, work throughout the week, including weekends. The variety and range of our activities, coupled with a real commitment to work, indicate the School's aim to educate the whole person. 

Location
Gordonstoun stands in 200 acres of woodland, within walking distance of sandstone cliffs and sandy beaches on the beautiful coast of the Moray Firth in Scotland. Six miles away is the historic city of Elgin. Lossiemouth nearby is well known for its picturesque harbour, fine golf courses and Royal Air Force Station. The City of Aberdeen is about 90 minutes drive away, while an hour's drive takes you to the ski resort of Aviemore at the foot of the Cairngorm Mountains. Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, is forty miles away and is itself only about an hour away from London (Gatwick) by air.
