We are seeking an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant to support a Year 10 student with specific needs (social, emotional, mental health and independent study skills) to enable them to reach their potential in school. This would be mostly done through 1:1 support, but may also involve offering classroom-based support in lessons.

The ELSA will build a strong working relationship with the student and their teachers in order to be able to: 

  • ­monitor the specific needs of the student,
  • motivate and encourage the student to concentrate on and fulfil set tasks,
  • ­guide the student towards becoming an independent learner,
  • ­advise teaching staff of best practice with that individual.

The ideal candidate will possess ELSA registration, have worked in an educational setting, and be able to demonstrate experience of delivering support to children with sensitivity and understanding to enable them to reach their full potential.
