Job overview

(26 hours per week/52 weeks per year)

This is an excellent opportunity for someone that is organised and is an excellent communicator.  The role will suit candidates with a strong background in working in schools/colleges and is predominantly a coordination role to enable effective links with schools in order for young people to make informed decisions about their next steps and career options. This includes organising taster days, campus tours and progression days so that young people are exposed to the learning opportunities available through the College.

The role will require day to day communication between schools and curriculum/support colleagues across the Chesterfield College Group to ensure effective and high quality experiences for young people considering their options.

Those with a background in teaching or facilitation of groups would be suited to this role as on occasions delivery of provision to schools groups may be required.  Equally experience of delivering careers information advice and guidance would be beneficial, as would experience in school liaison/engagement. However it is not essential to have experience in all of these areas if the candidate can demonstrate excellent transferrable skills from other areas.

For the duration of the funding availability, the post holder will also be responsible for the delivery of the DANCOP project, which aims to raise the aspirations of young people to consider studying up to university level. This would include attending DANCOP meetings, line management of two members of staff, and assisting them in facilitating sessions on campus.
