You will be working in a supportive, nurturing culture that sets high expectations of educational outcome whilst supporting students to make individual progress towards wider fulfilment. We can offer you the opportunity to advance your career within a supportive academy environment. You will be part of a Federation established in developing practitioners and nurturing excellent future leaders, with unrivalled opportunities for progression; whatever your aspirations as a teacher, middle or senior leader, our Teaching School Alliance provides a range of bespoke courses and qualifications, including our Aspiring Leaders NPQML and NPQSL programmes to help you achieve your ambitions more quickly.

About Harris Professional Skills Sixth Form

Harris Professional Skills Sixth form is a unique new sixth form, established to provide an outstanding vocational education and preparation for skills-based work or transition to university for students in Croydon and the surrounding boroughs.

Part of the Harris Federation, which runs 44 highly successful primary and secondary academies across London, Harris Professional Skills Sixth Form caters for students who may not suit the traditional pathways at post-16. With small class sizes and strong pastoral support, we offer excellent, focused vocational options as well as the opportunity to  take or resit GCSEs that you need to progress further – whether you choose to progress into a career or higher education.

Our new academy will offer a choice of construction, manufacturing, business or media for students choosing a vocational pathway, and a curriculum that will challenge and inspire you to develop the skills and confidence you need to compete successfully for jobs in your chosen vocation.

Croydon, like much of London and the South East, is undergoing a huge programme of construction and regeneration with the potential to benefit the area for generations to come. With a focus on hard skills and employability, Harris Professional Skills Sixth Form will help you develop the skills you need to be who you want to be – and be part of that success.

Harris Professional Skills Sixth Form is located in the former South Norwood Police Station building in Oliver Grove, alongside the Harris Federation’s Aspire Academy a successful alternative provision academy.

The building, which is situated right at the heart of the local community, will provide a modern, well-equipped and welcoming environment to students. It will house a wide range of facilities to allow us to deliver our vocational curriculum – including excellent ICT resources and media facilities, as well as facilities for plumbing, bricklaying, joinery, painting and decorating and plastering. ICT will be used, whenever possible, to enhance and extend learning at our sixth form.
