Merici College is an all girls’ 7-12 Catholic college committed to excellence in the education of girls, striving to assist all students to develop their potential academically, spiritually, culturally, physically and socially through innovative programs. Merici College is an IB World School, authorised to offer the Diploma Program (Years 11-12) and in the process of candidacy for the Middle Years Program (Year 7-10).

We have an excellent opportunity for an English Coordinator at Merici College. To be successful in this role, you will have a demonstrated commitment to personal growth and targeted and collaborative professional learning. You will have the proven skills in working collaboratively and flexibly with colleagues both in planning and in team teaching situations. This includes the ability to develop and support innovative classroom teachers who are committed to the school’s philosophy of Powerful Learning, Growth mindset and inquiry learning. Additionally, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to facilitate productive and caring relationships with students and staff.

Please note that this position is for an initial two-year period with an opportunity for further extensions. Two further extensions (each of four years) will be offered based on performance outcomes. The position will be underpinned by a permanent (ongoing) teaching position within Catholic Education. The commencement date for this position is 28 January 2020.

This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with CE policy.
