Job overview

Are you passionate about English? Would you love to teach? Then we want you!

A great opportunity has arisen to work within our English department. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated English graduate with an interest in gaining classroom experience and becoming a fully qualified teacher in the near future.

You would get direct experience of teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4, with support from a dedicated mentor. If you decide that teaching is a career you wish to pursue, we will assist your application and will offer you a place to train with us.

We are a high performing, oversubscribed Academy which is constantly challenging itself to improve even further. We were rated as Good with Outstanding features by Ofsted in 2014, with behaviour rated Outstanding, and a track record of training and developing staff.

Hours: 32.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, term-time only.

Please visit our website for Job Description, Person Specification and Application form, or alternatively contact Helen Smith on 01708 851661 for an application pack. Academy visits are warmly welcomed.

The Ockendon Academy and Ockendon Studio School are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
