About the role:

As an Independent School we are looking for an inspiring English Lead who can support the development of a revised and updated specialist curriculum to engage, inspire and enable our students to achieve aspirational outcomes through English.

Working alongside our Key Stage 2 Lead you will create an English curriculum for students to develop their speaking, listening and  literacy skills in order to support their achievements in their wider linguistic, mathematical, scientific, technological, human and social, physical, aesthetic and creative education.

You will need to be able to demonstrate that you have the skills to work students with a wide range of abilities and starting points, including the need to be able to teach and support phonics for older learners.  You will be working with students in class sizes of 4 to 6 students with TA support and all our students require you have an understanding SEMH and trauma informed practice.

If you have a vision for how English could be taught in an effective, contemporary, developmental way that engages students through learning outside the classroom, cross-curricular thinking, and the inclusion of new technologies we would like to hear from you.  

You must be a qualified teacher and must be able to demonstrate a significant interest, commitment to, or experience of working in a Special Educational Needs, additional needs, or other specialist setting.  This is a developmental opportunity for the right candidate and additional specialist training will be provided to enhance your skill set where required.
