Who we are:
We are a non-selective and inclusive school. The Academy supports and values the abilities of all of its students. We have a whole school approach to Special Educational Needs. All staff work together to ensure the inclusion of all students. We are committed to ensuring that students with Special Educational Needs fulfil their potential and achieve the optimal educational outcomes. We are committed to inclusion within the school curriculum and participation in all aspects of school life.
As a department we have a vision that all students with Special Educational Needs will access the support that will equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to remove their barriers to learning and enable them to fulfil their potential. They will be able to apply these skills across the curriculum and in their wider lives, moving them towards independence as learners and young people.
Southfields Academy is a thriving non-selective secondary academy located in south west London. It has recently undergone complete redevelopment and benefits from the cutting edge in art, design & vocational technology facilities, spacious and bright communal areas and classrooms. All of which are equipped with the latest technology and designed by our staff and students to ensure their fitness for purpose to educate the children of today and future-proofed for the children of tomorrow.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a motivated and inspiring teacher who will support the English and SEND departments to identify and deliver appropriate provisions and interventions in full class or small group settings. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with young people with a range of SEND and have a proven track record of differentiating to support learners of all abilities and supporting those students with specific needs.
The successful candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status and will have demonstrated excellent teaching skills. They will have an understanding of the expectations of the broad and balanced curriculum and have delivered successful schemes of work in their subject area. They will need to have a commitment to inclusion and inclusive practices and a proven application of Behaviour for Learning strategies. As a leader they must be able to demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills and be a proactive and motivated individual.
