As an English Teacher, you will demonstrate effective planning, organisation, and high standards of achievement and behaviour in English lessons. You will lead the development and ongoing review of the school’s English curriculum and related schemes of work, ensuring alignment with educational standards.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, you will facilitate connections with visiting specialists and the community to enrich the English learning experience. Sharing best practices within and beyond the English department will be crucial to enhancing teaching quality and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Utilising student tracking and monitoring processes, you will assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual needs, in line with school priorities. Furthermore, you will promote cultural enrichment through a variety of activities during and after school hours, fostering a holistic learning experience.

In terms of planning and preparation, you will identify clear teaching objectives and structures suitable for students' educational needs. Through engaging teaching methods, you will teach students to analyse and interpret literary texts effectively, while also focusing on developing language skills, critical thinking, and creativity.

Desired learner output includes ensuring all students demonstrate learning in relevant contexts and make good progress, cultivate positive attitudes, high levels of motivation, and independent initiative, as well as foster confident communication about achievements and learning outcomes in English.
