Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and passionate English as a Second

Language (ESL/EAL) teacher, to join our primary school team at Endaze British

International School.

The successful candidate will be required to work with students from Year 1 to Year 6,

effectively and closely with other team members.

They will be expected to plan lessons to fit the needs of individual students, to monitor

and record progress and to regularly feedback this information to the class teachers.

They will also be expected to create good working relationships with the parents of those

students that they work with, to give regular progress reports and to encourage their

support and collaboration.

The role involves working individually or in groups with students who are pulled out of

regular classes several hours per week for language-specific instruction. The expectation is

that they will be able to re-integrate into regular classes by the following academic year. The

successful candidate must be able to design custom curricula for each student's learning

needs, monitor and assess the students regularly. Experience in supporting English Language

Learners (ELL) is required.

Additional expectations of the post holder:

- Facilitate learning by becoming engaged in the school life and progress of each child,

including maintaining a close relationship with parents.

-Organise, support and take part in school events, outings and activities.

-Attend staff meetings and contribute to effective and harmonious functioning of the school.

-Provide short term cover for class teachers when required.

Requirements

A recognised qualification in teaching English as an additional language: Equivalent to

CELTA, TESOL, TEFL.

Experience working with primary students both in groups and individually.

Experience of planning individualised lessons, monitoring and recording student progress.

Fluency in English, which is the medium of instruction.
