Job overview

Leeds City College is one of the UK’s largest FE establishments with around 1200 employees and over 35,000 students. Offering a diverse curriculum within a vibrant and multicultural learning environment, our goal is to deliver excellent and innovative education which supports and inspires every student to achieve their ambitions.

The ESOL department at Leeds City College is validated as a grade 1 across all themes.  We are one of the largest and most successful providers of ESOL in the UK.  We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and innovative teacher in ESOL.  The successful candidate will need experience in teaching English as a second language, from complete beginners to higher levels.  Experience of teaching adults in a college setting is essential.  The post requires teaching in community centres, though based primarily at the Enfield Centre, so travel to different locations is needed.  Teaching may include a Saturday.

A subject specialist qualification in teaching second language acquisition is required as well as a PGCE. You will be passionate about your subject and have the ability and desire to enthuse others. You will be organised and experienced in course administration and have high expectations of both yourself and your students.
