Responsible to: Director of Finance

Responsible for: The planning, management and delivery of the Estates Management service within the Cathedral Schools Trust (CST)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, all year round. Flexibility considered for the right candidate.

Purpose of the role

The CST Estates Manager is an exciting new post for Cathedral Schools Trust. As the inaugural CST Estates Manager, you will play a key role in the leadership of the Trust. We are looking to appoint an individual who will work with the executive team and the school estates teams to provide a consistent and compliant management of the Estates functions of the Trust.

With both the oldest and newest schools in the city as part of our family, Cathedral Schools Trust offers a unique combination of historic foundations and new opportunities. From September 2021 we anticipate that the Trust will include 3 secondary schools and 6 primary schools. We are a fully inclusive MAT, with both non-faith community schools and Church of England schools, that celebrates diversity and encourages excellence for all members of our community. Music is an important part of our schools, enhancing our sense of community via performance and celebration.

This is a unique and rare opportunity for an enterprising and forward-thinking individual to leave a lasting legacy on the evolution of the Trust. The successful candidate should be strategic and approachable, offering Estates leadership and direction across the Trust’s schools.

You will be accountable for the Estates performance of the Trust and working with the central team, Principals/Heads and School Estates team you will develop the strategy and support to maximise the safe use of the sites and ensure sustainability.

Appointments are usually made at the starting level of the pay band in order to allow for development within the role. Exceptions may be made for candidates where appropriate.

Whilst you will be based at the CST central office, you will be required to visit the academies throughout the week.

If you would like an informal discussion about the role, please contact Simon Eakins, Finance Director, on  seakins@cathedralschoolstrust.org to make an appointment.

Closing date: Midnight on 4th June 2021

Interview: 14th and 15th June 2021

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All posts at Cathedral Schools Trust are subject to pre-employment checks including, but not limited to, initial and periodic enhanced level checks with the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Cathedral Schools Trust recognises the strength in diversity. Our schools have a wide range of cultural, socio economic and religious influences and we use this to ensure that we broaden our understanding of each other and the world.  We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, but particularly welcome those from BAME backgrounds, as we recognise that our staff team does not currently reflect the diversity of our student body.

As part of our commitment to equal opportunities, we ask that all applications are made by application form and we would be grateful if they could be accompanied by an equal opportunities monitoring form. The equal opportunities form is anonymous and is not shared with the shortlisting panel.
