We have an exciting opportunity for a Language School Co-ordinator to join our dynamic  Enterprise team here at Stonyhurst College.

Primarily you will be responsible for The Stonyhurst Language School. This is a residential summer school for international students, aged 10 – 16, to learn and improve their English, whilst enjoying all the facilities Stonyhurst has to offer. The Language School runs two courses annually throughout the month of July, and incorporates a residential Tennis Academy during the second course.

The Language School Co-ordinator will also be involved in assisting the annual events & lettings calendar, comprising of residential sports camps, religious retreats, antiques fairs, food festivals, holiday camps, banqueting events and weddings.

To be successful in the role you will have strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise your workload effectively. You’ll have a keen eye for detail and be able to balance a busy and varied workload, so flexibility in your approach to work is key. You will also be a confident communicator, committed to providing excellent customer service and maintaining strong relationships. Excellent IT skills are essential and some international travel may be required.

The key tasks and responsibilities will include; the administration, organisation and operational delivery of the Language School. To undertake all marketing administration relating to the Stonyhurst Language School and events programme, including updating and managing the websites. Staff and student recruitment is a key aspect of the role, which involves liaising with overseas agents and parents.

Experience of a similar role, such as office manager, is advantageous but not essential, however proven organisation and administrative skills are essential to the success of this role.

This role is a full year post, 37.5 hours per week according to our peak periods for Events. Predominantly you will work Monday – Friday however, evening and weekend work will be required to suit the needs of the business.

Stonyhurst College is the UK’s leading Catholic co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 3-18. Boarding is from the age of 7.

At the College, there are approximately 498 pupils aged 13-18, two thirds of whom are boarders.  At Stonyhurst St Mary’s Hall, the adjacent dedicated preparatory school, there are around 240 pupils aged 3-13.  Stonyhurst is set in stunning countryside, near the Ribble and Hodder rivers and the beautiful Trough of Bowland. It was founded in St Omer, Northern France (then the Spanish Netherlands), in 1593, and moved to its present site in Lancashire’s beautiful Ribble Valley in 1794. Throughout the years of religious

persecution in England,  Stonyhurst educated the boys of the English Catholic aristocracy and gentry.

The College’s Ignatian mission and identity,  and its sense of family, set Stonyhurst apart from other schools.
