Rickmansworth School is an 11-18 heavily oversubscribed co-educational partially (35%) selective academy with 1455 students on roll, increasing to around 1575 students over the next five years. Academic results are strong at KS4 and KS5 with the vast majority of students securing their first choice university destinations.
The School is in a very strong, stable financial position with over £6M recently spent on school expansion including a new Sixth-form centre, performing arts theatres and an Innovation & Design Centre. The School is also supported extremely well by a fantastic PTA and Foundation. Our outstanding staff well-being programme includes fortnightly well-being periods, access to our fitness suite and swimming pool, flu vaccinations and complimentary eye tests. The successful candidate will:
Make arrangements for internal examinations, including the production of the timetable, rooming and invigilation and liaising with Heads of Department to ensure that all required materials are in the examination rooms for the start of the examination and arrangements for candidates with special educational needs are in place.
Check, record and file examination papers securely as they arrive from examination boards.
Brief candidates on examination regulations and produce written guidelines for staff and students; ensuring candidates are aware of their own examination timetables.
Liaise with School SENDCo regarding candidates with special educational needs and ensuring that access arrangements are in place during examinations.
Oversee training of the invigilator team and the recruitment of invigilators when required.
Encourage a positive examination culture in the school to which all staff and students subscribe.
Keep up to date with the requirements of the role. Ensure attendance at appropriate awarding body training meetings, etc. and keeping up to date with the latest procedures and regulations for external examinations.
