The A1 road and a main line train service are convenient and effective links for the town. Bedford and Cambridge are about thirty minutes drive away and Milton Keynes and Peterborough less than an hour.

Biggleswade Academy is a popular, academy, fed by popular Lower Schools within Biggleswade, as well as attracting some students from nearby villages. Our students transfer to Stratton Upper School and other upper schools nearby.

The Academy has a strong Senior Leadership Team and supportive middle management.  Alongside the teaching team the Academy has support staff including Cover Supervisors, Learning Support Assistants, specialist Teaching Assistants and Technicians, a Library Co-ordinator and ICT Manager along with a very supportive and professional group of administration and premises staff.

Biggleswade Academy is part of LIFE Academies Trust.  The trust team provide support to the Academy in the form of Human Resources, Finance, Facilities Management and Governance Advice

The balanced curriculum provides for the full range of abilities within the school. There is also a wide range of extra curricular activities. These include musical activities, sporting events and field trips.

Buildings and Facilities

The Academy is situated in various separate buildings across 4 sites. The best way to get a feel for the school is to come and have a tour.  If none of the Leadership team are available a year 8 monitor will deliver the tour and answer questions – see the academy as they see it!

The main site is in Mead End, this is connected to our London Road (preschool) and Kitelands Road (Reception, Years 1 & 2) sites by a large playing field.

2017 saw the opening of a new building for years 3 & 4.  This building is at the Mead End site. The pupils have their own playground but they do get to mix with the older year groups at luch.
