Job Overview
A bright graduate from a leading university is required to support the Head Master and other members of the Senior Management Team. The successful applicant will be highly literate, numerate and able to work independently and as part of a team. An ability to undertake qualitative research will be essential, and an ability to analyse and handle quantitative data will be useful, as will some familiarity in using Excel to this end.
UK:
- Research educational matters of topical interest, as directed by the Head Master and members of the Senior Management Team.
- Analyse and collate both internal and external data from various sources. As this may, on occasion, require access to confidential information, the successful candidate will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement on appointment.
- Present research findings in written reports and oral presentations for different audiences.
- Assist with speech writing.
- Cultivate links with government and other official bodies.
- Interface, as required, with the London Academy of Excellence, a free school in London co-sponsored by Brighton College.
- Assist in the organisation of College events (e.g. the Brighton College Education conference).
- Undertake any other research requested by the Head Master and other members of the Senior Management Team.
INTERNATIONAL:
- Work closely with the Head Master to identify, research and cultivate major international donors.
- Assist the Head Master in establishing links with leading schools and universities abroad.
- Assist the Head Master and other senior colleagues with Brighton College’s own international schools programme.
-Undertake research visits to overseas (and UK) schools along with the Deputy Headmaster (Innovation and Development) and the Director of Creative Learning.

Since 2006, the College moved from 147th in The Sunday Times results table, to 3rd – the best position ever achieved by a co-ed school. The school site in Kemptown has seen the addition of stunning new facilities, sustainably designed by leading international architects, with recent investment well in excess of £100 million. These include the Music School and Sarah Abraham Recital Hall (2015), the Yeoh Building teaching complex (2017), the School of Science and Sport (2020) and the Richard Cairns Building, a stunning new performing arts complex, including a 400-seat theatre (2024). World-class facilities enable us to share a huge variety of opportunities with pupils and allow for innovative and exciting approaches to teaching and learning.

LIVING AND WORKING IN BRIGHTON
The College enjoys its location in Brighton, one of Britain’s youngest cities and one of the most vibrant and progressive in Europe. A recent national survey identified Brighton as the ‘happiest city in the UK’ and it regularly features within the top cities for quality of life nationally. With an extensive beach and seafront, and proximity to beautiful rural areas including the South Downs National Park, the opportunities for recreation and leisure are varied and numerous. Transport links are also excellent, Brighton being within easy travelling distance of London (50 minutes by train), and 30 minutes from Gatwick Airport. Brighton is also a university city, and the College has good links with both the University of Sussex and Brighton University. Our annual involvement in the Pride parade has strengthened existing links with the local community.
