The Governors of the Federation of Caddington and Slip End Schools are seeking to appoint an inspirational leader with drive, ability and strategic vision who will be the Executive Headteacher of our two schools located in Bedfordshire.
Our new Executive Headteacher will be able to continue our schools’ impressive journey of school improvement and will have a strong track record of transformational leadership or leading significant school improvement.
The successful candidate will:
- Understand how to create a culture of aspiration and a supportive learning environment for pupils that allows them to achieve their academic potential
- Have a strong focus on pupil progress and fostering good relationships with the whole school community
- Hold high expectations for academic achievement by all students regardless of their prior attainment and economic backgrounds

About Caddington Village School
Caddington Village School was formed as a result of a merger between 3 local schools. It opened in September 2008 and now has over 450 pupils on roll. The school will move to primary phase in September 2016 and also has a federated partnership with Slip End Primary.
During their time, pupils attain well. In Key Stage 2 pupils perform above the National Average in all core-subject areas and in Key Stage 3, the average pupil transfers to upper school showing achievement of at least one year beyond their chronological age.
Our well-equipped and modern facilities provide an excellent learning environment for our pupils. The school comprises a stimulating, purpose built nursery, 2 libraries, 3 computing suites, a 5 star rated dining facility, extensive playing fields and purpose built, fully equipped rooms for science, music, food technology, design technology and art.
Establishing Caddington Village School as, ‘a school at the heart of the community’ has been central to our school’s vision since its formation 6 years ago. Weekly community themes help to embed the values of citizenship throughout our school and involvement with community events promote a collaborative community approach to pupil learning.
Through innovation and research, Caddington sets itself apart from other learning environments by encouraging staff and pupils to reflect deeply on their learning and develop pioneering strategies to meet pupil needs. The school has received acclaim for its work with the Flurrish times tables App and with Lesson Study – a form of classroom based teacher research.
