St Ursula's E-ACT Academy are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to support a KS2 child on a 1:1 basis (part-time, fixed term contract.)
St Ursula's E-ACT Academy is a Primary Academy on the site of the former St Ursula's private school. We have recently moved into our new building as of November 2016, which is located just behind the old school site and remains on the original school grounds.
We are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to help develop the social emotional and educational needs of a child on a 1:1 basis. We are looking for someone who has exceptional behavior management skills, has a commitment to raising self-esteem, raising standards and understands the challenges of how special needs can affect behaviour. We are also looking for someone who is dedicated to building independence.
The working hours will be 8:30-3:30 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and 8:30-4:30 on Thursdays. We are looking for the successful candidate to commence employment at the beginning of the year in January 2018. We are offering a fixed-term contract which is tied in with the pupil that you will be working with, which will mean that the contract will end when the pupil is no longer attending the school.
To support a Key Stage 2 child in Year 3 on a 1:1 basis in a range of daily learning activities. To support teachers, parents and other colleagues in creating an environment that enables our pupils to reach their potential. To promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils. To work with the teacher to develop and implement strategies for pupils to reach their learning goals.
We are looking for an exceptional person with determination, focus and a capacity for innovation and transformation necessary to support the creation of a high attaining learning community within our Academy.
Learning Support Assistants will support the Principal and teaching staff to inspire pupils, staff and parents to establish an exceptional learning environment and help transform the lives of the whole community.
The successful applicant will:
• Be suitably qualified (Level 3 Certificate or equivalent)
• Have a knowledge and understanding of children with specific education needs
• Have experience working with children who can show challenging behaviour.
• Be robust, enthusiastic and innovative with the energy to try out a range of different strategies to support learning.
• Must be committed to working as part of a cohesive, supportive and forward thinking team.
