Job overview

About Waverley

Waverley Preparatory School is a nationally renowned independent Pre-Prep, PrepSchool, and Day Nursery, located in Wokingham in Berkshire.  We are extremely proud of our consistently strong national academic rankings–‘10 years Best in Berkshire’. We believe that we achieve these outstanding academic results by providing a stimulating yet nurturing educational environment for all our children, aided by a very strong management and staffing team.

Purpose of job

The Senior Management Team seek to appoint an Extended Hours Manager to promote and manage Breakfast Club and After School Club care (ASC) and the Waverley Holiday Club. The post holder must be well motivated, able to work on their own initiative and inspire the wider team, communicate effectively with parents, staff and children and, above all, be able to multi-task and cope well with interruptions and differing demands.

Breakfast Club and After School Care is a popular facility offered to all pupils at Waverley Prep School. Although ASC begins at the end of the formal school day it is seen as a further enhancement of the educational provision and requires close liaison with the academic team. It begins at 3.30pm and ends at 6.00pm. Holiday Club runs all day throughout each school holiday period, apart from one week around Christmas and New Year; the working contract is therefore for 51 weeks of the year as school is fully closed for this one week.

Hours of Work

During term time (approximately 37 weeks of the year), the working hours required are 12.20pm – 6.30pm (30 hours per week).  During the remaining holiday weeks, the working hours increase to 42.5 hours per week (pattern of work will vary depending on staffing rota).
