George Mitchell is an All-Through (3-16) multicultural school, with a Nursery. We are proud of our place at the heart of our local community and this is an exciting time for us, as we continue to expand from a one form to a two form entry school.
The Governors are keen to appoint a highly motivated and experienced teacher to manage and lead our Early Years Foundation Stage. The post holder will play an important role in leading Early Years provision at George Mitchell School and be a pivotal member of the Primary Leadership Team. As EYFS Leader you will be responsible for a Nursery and Reception team of 3 teachers and 5 teaching assistants. The post comes with a teaching commitment but in order to allow the successful candidate to develop staff and raise attainment rapidly, ample leadership and management time will be allocated. The Nursery is a 39 place per session Nursery and is on a purpose-built site close to the main Primary School.
In September 2018, the Nursery and reception classes will move into the new Primary building which is being constructed this term as part of the Priority Schools Building Programme.
