Job overview

General responsibilities:  To show good working knowledge of the EYFS curriculum Development Matters. Have a natural ability to develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with children and with other adults. Possess a high level of organisational and time management skills.  Inspire, excite and nurture children through a crucial stage of their development. Motivate children and use resources imaginatively to help them learn. Provide a safe and secure environment for children to develop their social and communication skills. Observe, assess and record each child's progress and to ensure the transfer of up to date records when pupils change classes or school. Encourage learning and development, through play and teaching. To plan engaging, creative age appropriate lessons by agreed deadlines in agreed formats and to ensure that copies of planning are available to interested parties. To provide a stimulating ordered classroom environment where time and resources are used well. To develop and maintain a good home-school partnership; to consult with and inform parents of the progress, attainment and attitudes of their children. To contribute to a whole school team approach. Have disposition to work in a multinational environment based on mutual care and respect. To work closely with a classroom teaching assistant.

Teaching Specifications:

UK Trained with qualified teacher status - essential

Recognised Bachelor’s degree - essential

Excellent working knowledge and understanding of EYFS Development Matters curriculum – essential

Be native-level English speaker-essential

Right to work in the EU-essential (work permits cannot be obtained for non-EU citizens)

Experience using Tapestry journal for assessment purposes-desirable

At least 2 years experience working in a school-desirable

Due to current pandemic and travel restrictions this post would suit someone already in Spain

This is a permanent teaching position. The role is primarily to replace the current Nursery classroom teacher until the end of the academic year.  Future teaching positions may not be classroom based and are at the discretion of the Principal dependent upon skillset and cohorts. Teachers may work across the Primary school as part of our excellent teacher intervention team.
