EYFS Teaching Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic person who would like to join our friendly and hardworking team as an EYFS teaching assistant. This post would suit someone who has experience of working with children as a teaching assistant in the early years or someone undertaking a teaching and learning degree or an apprenticeship. The post is full time (up to 32.5 hours a week, term time only) but will accommodate any requirements for release if studying. West Town Primary Academy is a vibrant and happy place to work where all of the staff are dedicated to the support of our fantastic and eager to learn children.

We are looking for someone who:
• can form positive and caring relationships with children which motivates them to learn, grow and be confident
• has the ability to think on their feet and use their initiative
• demonstrates excellent classroom practice with high standards of teaching and learning
• has strong questioning skills in order to develop learning inside and out of the classroom
• has a good understanding of early child development and is confident with the EYFS framework and its assessment procedures
• has a good understanding of how to support children with additional needs including SEND and EAL
• is a good team player who is willing to contribute to the ethos and wider community of the academy
• is motivated, passionate and reflective about their work
• has a commitment to professional development and the skills to engage positively with practitioners, parents/carers and families
