37 Hours per Week, Term Time Plus 2 Weeks
Salary: Senior Officer 1, Point 29-31, £23,724 to £25,293 per annum

This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and ambitious school committed to improving the outcomes of its students, both academically and socially. The postholder will be key in ensuring our students and their families from the Roma Community are able to access the support and services they may need to ensure their personal development, wellbeing and safety.
The successful applicant will be professional, adaptable and dedicated to delivering high quality support to some of our most vulnerable students and their families. You will have strong communication skills and will be able to build and maintain respectful, effective and professional relationships with students and their families, often in challenging circumstances. You will be motivated and resilient and be able to demonstrate the skills required to engage students and their families in their learning and personal development. You will make use of your network of external support from a range of agencies, including Social Care, the Police and local Health Services. Whilst this role will have a focus on students from the local Roma Community, you will be demonstrate an adaptable and inclusive approach and share your knowledge, network and expertise to benefit all at Merrill Academy.
You will have experience of a similar role, within education or social care, and will be able to gain the trust of our local community, securing their confidence in your abilities through the credible and effective intervention and support you provide, coordinate and facilitate.
GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C or above in Maths and English and a minimum of a Level 3 Vocational qualification in a related area, such as Social Care, are essential. Relevant professional development is desirable as is experience of engaging with the Roma Community and being able to speak Roma, Slovak or Polish.
