Finance Manager – based at The Coleshill School 

Required as soon as possible  

Grade 4: Salary Range £26,470 – £33,136 (actual salary £24,875 - £31,139 pa) (subject to knowledge and experience) 36.5 hours per week, term time plus 3 weeks  

The Arthur Terry Learning Partnership (ATLP) is a highly successful multi-academy trust (MAT) encompassing 3 secondary schools. 7 primary schools, a Teaching School, and SCITT.  Our MAT is currently expanding and will soon be 14 schools, 5 secondary and 9 primary, all based in north Birmingham, Tamworth, Lichfield and North Warwickshire. We also provide school to school support to schools outside of the MAT.   We also provide school to school support to schools outside of the MAT.  

As the ATLP grows and develops further an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join our team to be responsible for leading on financial management for the school, under the leadership and management of the central finance team.   

The successful candidate will ensure that effective financial management contributes to the strategic development and direction of the Trust Board.   

You will be involved in a broad range of financial management including three-year budget planning, budget monitoring and forecasting.  

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced finance professional whose confidence, credibility and sound expertise will be of key importance to the role.  Ideally qualified to AAT level, (but not essential) you must have a clear and extensive knowledge, understanding and ability to apply accuracy and consistency to the financial management of the school’s budget and internal controls. The school’s budget forms part of the consolidated financial statements for the Trust.

• Be resilient, flexible, adaptable and able to demonstrate an ability to work well in a very busy environment, whilst remaining calm under pressure. 

• Be committed to delivering consistently high standards. 

• Be methodical, well organised and display an appropriate level of confidentiality, child protection/safeguarding, data protection/GDPR and security awareness.

 • Be able to demonstrate a high level in the use of ICT, English and Numeracy skills.

 • Have experience of the use of Sage or a similar financial management system – and be adaptable to learn new systems. 

• Have experience of HCSS, or a similar forecasting software system.

 • Be able to demonstrate previous success at delivering a first-class finance service. 

• Be able to work both on own initiative, manage finance officer(s) and be a significant contributor to the wider ATLP team.

 • Be able to deliver presentations with confidence and clarity to a wide audience. 

• Demonstrate a commitment to collaborative working through coaching and mentoring.

 • Contribute to whole Trust performance management initiatives. 

• Previous experience in a school/academy/multi academy trust setting would be an advantage.  

The post will predominantly be based at The Coleshill School, in Coleshill, North Warwickshire.  However, you may also be required to support other schools across the MAT as we develop and grow.  We are looking for someone who is flexible and who is willing to work in any school within the MAT, if required.  Ability to travel within this area is essential.
