£16,875 - £18,196 per annum inclusive of Outer London Weighting

Location: Slough, Berkshire

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our highly professional, friendly team within a growing and highly successful Multi Academy Trust (MAT). We are looking to appoint a member of staff who has a “can do” attitude and is flexible, practical, pro-active, energetic and diligent to support our existing finance teams in delivering excellent service. 

Primarily the post holder will support the Senior Finance Manager in providing effective and efficient financial management and contributing to the on-going development of the MAT finances and sites. Secondarily they will also work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to convert aspirations into solutions meeting Trust objectives.

The Academy Finance Manager is responsible for:

· Assisting the Senior Finance Manager with all aspects of reporting, development and effective operation of the finance function in accordance with external requirements;

· Assisting the Senior Finance Manager with operating and monitoring all accounts including budgets and forecasts;

· Co-ordinating and overseeing administrative routines relating to income, expenditure and payroll;

· Liaising with HR, IT and Estates personnel to ensure the efficient administration of all aspects of payroll and other costs including monthly and annual returns;

· Utilising SIMS personnel information;

· Managing the Civica finance system and BACS payment process;

· Line managing a Finance Assistant who mainly handles customer and supplier transactions.

The ideal candidate will have:

· AAT Technician (level 4) qualification or a business/mathematical degree (or equivalent);

· excellent IT skills, particularly MS Excel and management software;

· the ability to interpret and utilise complex financial data to aid the Trust.
