Ambitious about Autism is a national charity with the ambition of making the ordinary possible for more children and young people with autism. They provide services, raise awareness and understanding, and campaign for change. Through the TreeHouse School and Ambitious College, they offer specialist education and support. The organisation is continuing to grow and they are going through a period of exciting change, including opening a college in West London.

The Financial and Management Accountant is an important role within the team, supporting the Senior Financial Accountant to ensure the integrity of the financial data and also supporting the Business Partners to maintain high levels of financial management.

Key responsibilities will be:

  • Supporting the delivery of the statutory accounts
  • Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations to maintain the upkeep of the ledgers
  • Processing credit card payments, BACs payments, payroll and pension journals.
  • Responsibility for the fixed asset register and monthly depreciation journal
  • Supporting the budget setting process and termly reforecasts
  • Supporting the monthly management accounts process.

This is an exciting opportunity for a part-qualified accountant, or someone who is training to be an accountant to gain invaluable experience across both the Financial and Management Accounting functions. The successful candidate will be have knowledge and experience in working in a similar role or looking to take the next step in their career. The candidate will have experience of complex account reconciliations and the ability to set high standards, whilst working in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders. Previous experience within a not for profit organisation is desirable but not essential.

- Ambitious College is a specialist day college for autistic young people aged 16 to 25. The college has two campuses situated in partnership with mainstream colleges in north and west London.

- Spring School is a special school dedicated to educating autistic pupils aged four to 19. It was opened in 2023 by the Ambitious about Autism Schools Trust and is based in Kingston, south west London.

- St. John’s College is a specialist college based in Brighton supporting young people aged 16-25. The college became part of Ambitious about Autism in 2023.
