Langdon Park is a fantastic place to work. The school is based in recently refurbished buildings with excellent sports facilities and just opposite Langdon Park DLR station. 

We are seeking to appoint a Food Technician to start from September 2024 or sooner. The successful applicant will provide support for the food department in the preparation and delivery of food lessons and ensure they have the necessary equipment and resources to deliver the curriculum. Duties will include maintaining the food room (cleaning and organisation) ordering resources, supporting students' learning, development of classroom resources and displays. Relevant experience and qualifications (Food Safety Certificate) are desirable but training will be provided

Reports to Head of Food and nutrition

Purpose of Role :To provide support to the Head of Department and students

with the education and practical elements associated with food lessons.

Main responsibilities/duties

  • Providing assistance and supervision as required in lessons
  • Ensuring the kitchen area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • Manage the dry goods storage cupboard ensuring strict stock rotation and ensuring all ingredients are “in date”.
  • Preparing lesson resources and ingredient lists.
  • Setting out the demonstration trays for the teacher.
  • Assisting the teacher in the guidance and support of pupils in lessons.
  • Photographing and displaying pupils work.
  • Responsible for washing ensuring there is always a supply of clean laundry.
  • Preparing classroom resources and displays.
