Required September 2024

Part Time variable hours contract approx. 10 – 15 hours per week

Salary: Spot rate of £15 per hour

We are seeking to recruit a well-qualified and highly motivated Spanish Language Assistant to join the Modern Foreign Languages department which is a hardworking, friendly department of 10 staff.

The successful candidate will be able to teach Spanish conversation in small groups to A level students and so familiarity with the GCSE and A level Spanish course would be useful, but not essential.

You will work to build students' confidence in their speaking skills as they develop from GCSE level into year 13 and so ideally this position would suit either a native speaker or degree level Hispanist.

Hours will be variable as it depends when students are free from their other lessons, so a flexible approach to working would be essential.

Early applications are encouraged as the school reserves the right to close the advert should we feel able to appoint an appropriate candidate.

Closing Date:      Thursday 23 May 2024 at 9.00am

Interview:             Week commencing 3 June 2024

Beaumont is an oversubscribed, mixed comprehensive school, with Academy status, of over 1500 students, including a sixth form of 486. It enjoys an excellent reputation and achieves the very highest levels of academic success across a broad and balanced curriculum, supported by excellent pastoral care.  In 2014, Ofsted found Beaumont to be an outstanding school in all categories. The school receives strong support from parents and our local community and its staff are dedicated to ensuring that students reach their full potential and to creating a vibrant and inspirational environment for learning.

We are so proud of our students who undertook public exams in 2023 and the wonderful results they achieved.  They have demonstrated great resilience to achieve outstanding grades at both A Level and GCSE, in spite of all the challenges of going through secondary education during a pandemic.

At KS4 there were hugely impressive results across the board, from the number of top grades achieved to the highest percentage of students gaining grade 4 or above in both English and Maths in the school’s history (92%). 42% of the results were at grades 9 - 7 and we achieved a Progress 8 score of 0.7.

Beaumont’s Sixth Form students did themselves proud yet again in 2023, reaping the fruits of all their hard work to gain outstanding results, including 76 A* grades at ‘A’ Level. At KS5, the A Level APS per entry was 39.8, meaning the average grade awarded was a B.  Many have won places on some of the most competitive university courses in the land, including several who are heading to Oxbridge.
