All contract types available.

Our Assessors can earn £21,402.00-£23,382.00 per annum (pro-rata for part time)

Job Ref: HR1718-109

The Functional Skills Faculty are delighted to announce that we are creating opportunities for Assessors with passion, enthusiasm and flair to come and join our progressive and forward thinking team.

The acquisition of basic literacy, numeracy and ICT skills as a platform on which to progress to higher levels is pivotal for learners who want to complete in a global economy.  For many learners, the opportunity to see success through Further Education presents a valuable second chance for them and therefore we are looking for assessors with the ability to motivate, inspire and enthuse our learners towards achieving their goals.

With opportunities across our 4 discrete campus locations, there is the professional challenge to contextualise the learning to make it vocationally relevant to the learner and support them in being “work ready.” However, we are currently investing in a new distance learning opportunity for adult learners for whom weekly attendance at college is impractical. Through this strategy we can reach out to more learners and better influence the local and national skills agenda.

Skilled in Functional Skills delivery and ideally in all 3 discrete areas, you will look to embrace the technologies that we have in terms of Google applications and be comfortable in diagnostic data assessment. Smaller class sizes will allow you to offer a greater degree of personalised learning in an attempt to best meet the needs of the learners. The ability to manage learner progress “remotely” and offer advice over the phone and electronically will be vital in order to support the success of our distance learning package. For some staff, the need to travel to deliver “on-site” training in other geographical areas will be an added opportunity to relish.

Access to IT, supportive mandatory training and professional development opportunities will all contribute in allowing you develop as a practitioner of FS within an FE setting.

If you feel that this is something that will allow you to give the best of yourself then we would very much look forward to hearing from you, as our learners deserve to have the very best. Is this you?
