A new exciting opportunity has arisen for a Functional Skills tutor to join a dynamic and busy team who, working closely with employers, seek to maximise apprentices’ potential by developing their skills in the work place. This opportunity is for a passionate, committed and innovative individual who has the ability to work with both mature and 16 – 19-year-old apprentices as part of a large, dynamic and successful apprenticeship team within a well-established Land-based College. The purpose of this role is to ensure a high quality and relevant learning experience for all apprentices. 

The main responsibilities of the role will be to teach English, Maths and ICT Functional Skills to a level 2 standard and to develop programmes of study to meet the particular needs of our diverse range of apprentices.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Functional Skills Co-ordinator to develop and drive Functional Skills across college and embed into the apprentices’ learner journey. You need to be able to plan and promote best practice. The ideal candidate would have specialist skills in the following:

· Minimum A ‘level qualifications in English & Maths related subject, or equivalent

· Functional Skills Level 2 English & Maths 

· Functional Skills Level 2 ICT, or equivalent

· Recognised Teaching Qualification 

· Have experience of the delivery of Functional Skills

· Have experience of working effectively across teams
