NJC pt 1-6 Full time (37 hours per week all year round) 

The William Henry Smith School is a non-maintained residential special school for boys aged 5-19 experiencing complex Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges (SEMH). Our students have a breadth of special educational needs, including learning difficulty and disability. We are a not for profit charitable organisation providing ‘Ofsted Outstanding’ education, therapy and care. Our vision is to ensure opportunities for success are provided through a diverse programme of bespoke individual learning pathways and life skills across the 24 hour curriculum which serve to develop resilience and skills for life-long learning, happiness and an improved quality of life. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to be part of our premises and maintenance team within the school. The post holder will be required to work under the instruction and guidance of the Premises Supervisor.  However, they should also be able to work unsupervised and use their own initiative.  They must be physically fit and able to undertake physically demanding tasks, in order to support the premises team. 

We are looking for individuals who preferably have a knowledge of working within a multi trade environment and who are keen to learn, assist and support the premises team and the gardener with daily tasks, ensuring the site is kept to a high standard at all times.  A strong work ethic, reliability and self-motivation is essential for this role.  

The successful candidate will be required to have a basic understanding of Health and Safety and ensure that practices and procedures are adhered to.  The candidate will ideally also have level 4/5 or grade C or above in numeracy and literacy.  A full driving licence is essential.
