We are looking to recruit to an enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced General Science Technician to provide support across the science faculty mainly, though primarily to support the Physics department.
The main purpose of the role is to support with the preparation for practical work in line with the science curriculum, including the setting up of equipment and apparatus in the laboratories and classrooms.
The Science Faculty has an outstanding academic record at iGCSE, A level and Oxbridge entrance. Within the Science Faculty, Biology, Chemistry and Physics operate as three separate disciplines with each department large enough to have a Deputy Head of Department, a technical Team Leader and a General Science Technician. One of the three Team Leaders is also the Senior Science Technician.
The Science teaching facilities are among the finest available in any school in the country at this time and the Faculty is generously resourced. The teaching in each Department is by subject specialists.
Hours of work: 37 hours per week (excluding one hour per day for lunch unpaid), during term time, plus 15 days to be worked during school holidays.
