You will assist us in fulfilling the school’s mission statement by actively participating in the delivery of a high-quality language education program.

ENGAGEMENT AND INTERACTION – SCHOOL AMBASSADOR TO INTERNAL COMMUNITY

  • Promote the school values in all interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Actively participate in community and culture-building events as part of an international community.
  • Contribute to enrichment opportunities aimed at engaging students beyond the classroom.
  • Promote effective communication channels with parents to ensure a strong home – school relationship that supports student development.

LEARNING AND TEACHING

  • Ensure learning experiences are authentic and inspiring to engage students as passionate and curious learners.
  • Use technology effectively and innovatively to support quality learning experiences for students.

  • Employ a range of strategies as part of the teacher’s approach to engaging learners and ensuring a personalized approach to learning for all.
  • Balance lessons effectively to ensure the optimum input from teachers and students as drivers of the learning experience.
  • Encourage exploration, innovation, and creativity in dealing with content and skill development during lessons.
  • Sequence learning experiences to build on prior learning and explore personal exploration beyond the confines of curriculum coverages.

 

PLANNING AND PREPARATION

  • Plan lessons to build learner capability and in line with the PBIS school values and IB Learner Profile attributes.
  • Ensure lessons are purposeful and of a high standard, with quality outcomes expected from all.
  • Vertically align curriculum planning to support student growth and the development of skills and knowledge over time.
  • Encourage students to take a lead role in their learning and be active contributors to shaping their learning journey.
  • Ambitiously and deliberately plan lessons to support a range of learning needs while encouraging peer collaboration and reflection.
  • Use formative and summative assessment methods effectively to inform teaching and learning practice.
  • Utilize tracking and monitoring systems effectively to support and challenge learners to make targeted progress relevant to their ability.

PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

  • Fully participate in the school’s performance management procedures and appraisal through effective target setting and reflection using school-specified systems.
  • Commit to pursuing personal development opportunities to ensure that your pedagogical approach to teaching and learning evolves.
  • Engage in professional collaboration using Nord Anglia University to enhance your teaching practice and expand pedagogical understanding of educational developments.
  • Take part in an open-door approach to learning from others through learning walks, peer observations, and teaching triads to share best practice.
  • Pledge to reflect on your personal growth to promote a healthy work-life balance that enables you to perform to the best of your ability.

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status with a minimum of two years of teaching experience.
  • Possess a University Degree level or above qualification in German Language.
  • Have experience in teaching Key Stage 3/4 (11–16 years), specifically in the MYP curriculum & IGCSE.
  • Demonstrate experience in delivering extracurricular activities and participating in externally run events to support student enrichment opportunities.
  • Completion of IB Cat1/2 training for MYP Language Acquisition is preferable but not essential.
  • Exhibit a strong track record of continuous professional development, showcasing a commitment to being a lifelong learner.
  • Ability to demonstrate high-quality pastoral care experience that supports the growth and development of young people.
  • Provide evidence of being an active collaborator, actively working with colleagues to cross subject boundaries and develop transferable skills in young people.
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to innovate and adapt curricula to engage students.
  • Possess strong proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning, engaging learners to achieve quality educational experiences.
  • Exhibit exceptional cross-cultural, interpersonal, and communication skills to interact with a diverse community and a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the passion and drive to demonstrate and quantify success.
  • Maintain a strong record of being results-oriented, consistently mapping efforts against identified KPIs to demonstrate your impact as a quality educator.
  • Display excellent time management skills and flexibility in dealing with multi-functional tasks.

About Prague British International School, Kamýk

Prague British International School is a new school formed by the merger of the English International School Prague and the Prague British School. EISP and PBS have a long history in the city, founded in 1992 and 1995 respectively, both schools provide education for Prague's local and international community, educating children aged 2-18 years using the English National Curriculum, IB Diploma Programme and IB Careers Programme.

Located on three campuses, Vlastina (Prague 6) for EYFS to Year 9, Kamyk (Prague 4) for EYFS to Year 9 and Libus (Prague 4) for Year 10 to Year 13. Each location is a purpose-built site on the outskirts of the city centre. Each site has modern classrooms, great IT facilities, sports hall and expansive sports fields.
