The School:

Launched for Grades 5 - 11 in 2022, Downe House Muscat is the world’s first authentic international girls’ school run by a premium all-girls’ school from England.

Through our partnership with Downe House in the UK, we are proud to bring the first UK premium girls’ school influenced by one hundred and thirteen years of world class British education, to Oman. Girls aged 9 to 18 have the opportunity to be inspired and challenged as they grow into confident young women preparing to play their part in the world.

Downe House Muscat currently operates from Grade 4 to Grade 12 and we will launch Grades 1 to 3 in 2024-2025.

The Location:

The school is located in the Al Bandar Masterplan – a 1.1 million square metre development situated in close proximity to Muscat International Airport, City Centre Muscat and many residential communities. Our state-of-the-art campus houses some of the finest school facilities in Oman. These include dedicated libraries, a central atrium, a STEM centre, an Art and Design centre, 400 seated theatre, music and drama classrooms and practice rooms, IT labs, indoor facilities and exciting plans for Phase 2 - construction will begin in 2024.

The Role:

A Class Teacher should display a genuine commitment to the academic, personal and social development of children. The post holder will require the ability to relate well to, and communicate effectively with, parents, staff and pupils. Teachers are expected to contribute in general to the high academic standards and disciplinary ethos of the school, and to follow its policies. They should seek to make a real contribution to their academic department. are responsible for ensuring all pupils make excellent progress and find learning enjoyable and challenging.

Salary and Benefits:

The post attracts a competitive salary (£47,700 - £62,800) UK-equivalent package before tax and benefits package appropriate for the experience, skills and personal circumstances of the successful candidate and will include:

Downe House Muscat is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to respect this commitment. The post is subject to applicants providing a satisfactory current Police Clearance Certificate. In addition, candidates are requested to provide a police clearance certificate from each country they have worked in. Two satisfactory professional references will also be required.

Some of these documents will need to be attested by you at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Oman Embassy in the candidate’s home country.
