Graduate Boarding Assistant – PE/Sport

Full Time, Fixed Term (residential)

Headington is a vibrant and welcoming school set in 23 acres on the outskirts of Oxford. The School is renowned for its commitment to academic excellence, pastoral support and an impressive range of extra-curricular opportunities.  

The boarding community plays a key role in school life.  We have c205 boarders: these are a mix of full, weekly, half weekly and occasional boarders in five separate houses. We are seeking Graduate Boarding Assistants to support the PE/Sports’ Department.  You will live and work at the School for the academic year September 2018 – July 2019. 

The jobs are designed to give recent graduates an opportunity to gain experience of living and working in a boarding school environment, perhaps prior to embarking on a PGCE, or to taking up a full teaching/Sports/coaching position.  

We are seeking confident, resilient, well-rounded personalities with good flexibility to be able to adapt to changing circumstances to fulfil the roles which will comprise primarily of working/assisting in the PE/Sports’ Department (providing support in PE and Dance lessons, supporting Games activities and extra-curricular clubs, as well as providing support with the fixtures programme), administration and boarding activities, such as supervising boarders’ sporting activities in the evenings and at weekends.
