A fantastic opportunity with a September start for TWO Graduate staff members to utilise and build upon skills working with children and young people, acquired via a degree with placements or supporting part time employment, to commence a career in the education sector.

Our client is recruiting a term-time only Graduate Special Educational Needs Support Worker post within their highly regarded specialist provision.  A high level of training and support will be provided, along with excellent career opportunities.

The Special Educational Needs Support Worker post involves integrating into their specialist setting and ways of working with emphasis on delivering high standards or education and outcomes, developing young people holistically and supporting them to achieve, fulfil their ambitions and become healthy, happy, productive members of society.

This is a multifaceted role requiring resilience, patience, flexibility, stability, optimism and a talent for engaging vulnerable or previously disengaged young learners. You will wear many ‘hats’ whilst supporting and developing them socially, emotionally and academically and become used to operating according to Nurture Principles and Restorative Practice. The Graduate Special Educational Needs Support Worker role involves working within a staff team with Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Outreach Workers and Pastoral Leaders.

We are ideally seeking candidates from Psychology, Health and Social Care, Youth Work, Special Educational Needs, Childhood Studies, Education Studies, Social Work, Children Young People and Families Studies, Counselling or those from a curriculum subject background considering a role in teaching.

In order to be considered for this role we will need to be able to obtain at least 2 detailed references. These should cover placements, degree studies and any previous employment related to the role.
