An opportunity has arisen for a Groundsperson to join our fully comprehensive in-house Estates team, which oversees the maintenance and upkeep of the School’s historic estate.

The School has extensive high-class sports facilities including cricket, rugby and football pitches, an athletics track, tennis courts, a nine-hole golf course and two newly re-laid AstroTurf pitches. There are also areas of woodland, farmland, a lake set in a Capability Brown listed landscape, and undeveloped ground including public rights of way that need to be managed.

The Harrow School Estates team prides itself on providing the highest standard and quality of workmanship across its estate. We are seeking a proactive individual who is keen to take on this opportunity and develop in all areas of groundsmanship.

Candidates should hold a NVQ Level 2 Sports Turf qualification (or equivalent), have working knowledge of natural and synthetic sports surfaces and the ability to operate a variety of grounds maintenance equipment. 

Applicants should be enthusiastic, be able to work outdoors in all weathers and to work unsupervised.

Harrow School is situated in Harrow on the Hill in north-west London. The School is located on a 324-acre estate which encompasses much of Harrow on the Hill and is one of the best-known schools in the world. Around 837 boys study at Harrow and live in the School’s 12 boarding houses. Harrow School is an independent boarding secondary school for boys aged 13-18. It was established, by royal charter, in 1572 during the reign of Elizabeth I.
