15hrs per week x 52 weeks per year

The successful applicant will possess a range of maintenance and DIY skills and will need to be physically fit. As Handyperson you will be part of a team that ensures the school environment is maintained to a good standard and aims to deliver a quality service in the school where high standards are expected. Overtime may be available to the successful applicant.

The school has a number of excellent facilities including Astro Turf, Sports Centre, Fitness Suite and Swimming Pool which the Handyperson will help maintain and monitor.

Our school serves a richly diverse area, with many ethnic groups and languages represented. We are very much a community school at the heart of a local neighbourhood, and we provide a haven in which our children feel safe, valued and happy. Each child at Caterham High School is important and we do our utmost to ensure that each student is given every opportunity to learn and succeed. Our students are well behaved, polite and friendly.

Caterham High School is a friendly, welcoming and dynamic environment for staff. We have good facilities, strong CPD for staff and excellent relationships between students and staff. Staff have free access to our gym and other sports facilities, including the swimming pool and free parking.

Caterham High has been at the heart of the local community for over 60 years providing an excellent education for all young people that join our thriving institution. There are many opportunities, formal and informal, for dialogue, which we strongly welcome.

We have an expanding and responsive curriculum aimed at enhancing choice and opportunity for students as they progress through the school from Year 7 to Year 13.  Our teaching is both innovative and challenging both in content and delivery, and ICT is used throughout the school to bring the curriculum to life and to stimulate and engage students in their learning. We make good use of our facilities (including the astro-turf pitch, pool, fitness suite and dance studio) and ensure that every child can be involved in the enrichment opportunities on offer.
