Harris Experience Programme Coordinator
Graduate career opportunity in education/events management
One year internship starting April 2018
We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and extremely well organised recent graduate to help support our current Head of Harris Experience with running the Harris Experience and Harris Experience Advanced most able programmes as a one-year internship.
The Harris Experience is a well-established Russell Group application programme spanning five years, from Year 9 to Year 13. This cultural and academic programme aims to support our most able students across the federation in gaining places at the very best universities. The programme is embedded into all of our secondary schools (currently 22) and sixth forms (currently 18), beginning in Year 9 and going through to Year 13.
What we are looking for:
This job would suit a recent graduate with a strong interest in education and events management. We are looking for someone with a minimum of a 2:1 in any academic degree. The right candidate will have an absolute commitment to transforming the lives of young people and have a strong interest in Higher Education and current academic events.
It is highly desirable that applicants have attended a Russell Group university so that they have the necessary experience for the role. Candidates should also have a strong interest in the potential of university education for young people and be knowledgeable about all Russell Group universities, including Oxford and Cambridge.
Details of the programmes can be found on at www.harrisfederation.org.uk/64/harris-experience.
This role will be based at the Harris Federation head office near East Croydon station; however, much of your time will be spent visiting our academies in and around London.

The Harris Federation is a not-for-profit educational charity with almost 25 years of education experience in and around London. Our primary, secondary, all-through and sixth form academies have an international reputation for delivering a step change in education standards.
In joining a Harris Academy, you will be working with some of the country’s most exceptional teachers, support staff and leaders. There are frequent opportunities for internal exchange and promotion; our CPD is regularly described as Outstanding; and we have a package of staff benefits that rivals the most competitive of other professions.
Each Harris Academy is led and run by its senior leaders and has its own curriculum and way of doing things. What our Academies share, however, is a commitment to giving their children and teenagers an excellent education within a happy, caring and supportive environment.
There are Harris Academies in many different settings – inner city and suburban – but they are all within a maximum ninety minute commute from each other. This enables a highly collaborative structure, with on-call support from the Harris Federation.
