Nelson and Colne College Group is a beacon for educational excellence, made up of a family of colleges – Nelson & Colne College, Lancashire Adult Learning & Accrington & Rossendale College. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, competent and highly motivated student focussed Lecturer in Health & Social Studies to join our HE department at Accrington & Rossendale College.   This is a permanent role working 28 hours per week.

The successful candidate will teach on a range of programmes, across a range of levels in Health & Social Studies and related subjects, including management of learning, design and delivery of high-quality teaching and learning to ensure students achieve their maximum potential together with learning outcomes. You will be required to keep up to date, plan and prepare high quality teaching as required by the Dean of Higher Education, whilst ensuring close liaison and good communications with other staff in matters concerning students. 

Please note: This role will involve teaching at both Accrington and Rossendale College and Nelson and Colne College, so the ability to travel across these sites is essential.

Main duties include:

• Teach on the BA(Hons) Health and Applied Social Studies programme though not exclusively.

• Provide specialist advice to learners, employers and organisations regarding qualifications and delivery options

• Contribute to ensuring that relevant learner data is accurately collected and passed to the Programme Leaders, HE Office, MIS and exams where applicable

• Take responsibility for qualifications and work as part of a team as well as independently striving to continuously improve the performance and learner experience.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Degree Level Qualification in a relevant field

• Recognised teaching qualification

• Teaching experience in the subject area

• Knowledge of and proven ability to deliver the curriculum successfully
