Moorcroft School is a part of The Eden Academy Trust, who specialises in meeting the educational needs of children and young people with a range of learning disabilities including those who may be autistic and those who have physical or sensory needs.
We are a family of schools working together under one Academy Trust, led by our Board of Trustees, to blend the best educational and therapeutic practice. Our team approach ensures we work closely with families and carers to identify and meet all the needs of our young people.
Moorcroft School is for pupils aged 11-19 years old who have severe learning difficulties. In addition, some of our pupils will have additional communication and/or physical disabilities, ASD or have complex medical needs.
We are looking to recruit a Head Cook to prepare, cook and serve food for our pupils and staff in accordance with defined standards and quality, and working within DfE Guidelines in respect of current Health and Safety Policies. You will also manage a team to ensure an efficient and productive kitchen. As most pupils have dysphagia needs, this will also include preparing meal options for various textures and consistencies, as per the IDDSI.
We would welcome applications from candidates who have experience of working in an appropriate environment with NVQ Food Preparation and Cooking Level 1 and 2 qualifications and who are enthusiastic, flexible and are willing to participate fully in the life of a special school.
If you would like to speak to us prior to making your application, please telephone 01895 437799 to speak to Lauren at Moorcroft School who will be very happy to discuss the role.
Closing date: Friday 12th April 2024 at Noon
Interviews date: W/C 15th April 2024
CVs will not be accepted.
Moorcroft School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and other pre-employment checks.
The Eden Academy Trust may, from time to time, require an employee to be relocated temporarily or permanently to one of its other schools. Any proposal to relocate will be carried out with due consultation and reasonable notice.
