Applications are invited for the post of Head of this nationally acclaimed sixth form college to succeed current Head Scott Baker after four years of outstanding leadership. London Academy of Excellence (LAE) Stratford was established in 2012 to provide opportunities for local students seeking a high quality academic A level education in preparation for applications to the UK’s top universities. Over the past eight years, working in partnership with six independent schools, it has delivered on this vision and lived up to its name by students consistently achieving some of the best A-Level examination results of any school or sixth form in the country and securing record numbers of places at Oxford and Cambridge, leading Russell Group universities and medical schools. However, there is a lot more to LAE than just results. It is a strong, inclusive and diverse community committed to developing the whole student. In addition to world class teaching, outstanding pastoral support and university guidance, a rich co-curricular programme offers students unprecedented chances to explore their own individual interests and talents, supported by HSBC and six of the UK’s leading independent schools.

However, no educational organisation can ever stand still. Governors seek a creative, dynamic and strategic thinker who will embrace and enjoy all that has been achieved but use a fresh perspective to ensure that, in a fast-changing educational landscape, LAE remains at the cutting edge of the very best of sixth form education today. The successful candidate will have the exciting opportunity of planning in partnership and overseeing the transition of the academy into a new and purpose-built premises and will have:
