Job overview

The Ongar Academy

Head of Art, Design and Food Technology

Required: September 2021

Leadership Scale 4-6 (Including Fringe)

The Ongar Academy is a wonderful and harmonious school, leading the way in the education of the whole person with a strong philosophically-based ethos with brand new buildings and cutting edge facilities.

We are looking for an outstanding, resourceful and qualified Head of ADT who will be able to demonstrate our vision of family and community.  We have an outstanding leadership programme and we actively seek potential in our candidates even if they might not have huge experience.  However huge experience is welcomed also.

The successful candidate should have experience in teaching Product Design, woodwork, metalwork or other specialist areas.  It is hugely popular at GCSE and we are considering offering it at A-Level in our brand new Post-16 centre.  The successful candidate would display a confidence in the delivery of GCSE theory, and offering support for coursework.

You would line manage Art and Design and Food Technology.

It is also an associate leadership post and you would be working with a group of senior middle leaders who drive the school forwards.  The Executive Headteacher of TOA (Allan Osborne) coaches aspiring leaders to potential senior leadership posts in the very near future.

Visits to the school prior to application are most welcome and can be arranged using the contact details below.

Closing date: 11th May 2021 at 3.30pm
