Job overview
The Old School Henstead seeks to appoint an inspirational Art Teacher for a full-time teaching position commencing September 2019. You will be an exceptional teacher with excellent Art skills and a passion for all things artistic. You will hold a degree in Art, or a related discipline and will manage the Art Department, as well as overseeing the programme of entries for school, regional and national art competitions. The candidate will also run successful lower and upper school clubs and other artistic activities. Experience of stagecraft and construction for theatrical and musical productions is desirable.
A willingness to play a full and active role in the daily life of a busy and vibrant prep school is a necessity, as is the desire to engage in regular professional development opportunities. Experience of teaching at Key Stages 1 and 2 and a good level of ICT skills are desirable attributes. This is a suitable role for an experienced teacher leading art in a school, but may also suit an ambitious NQT.
We are a rural preparatory school and nursery (IAPS and ISA accredited), offering a superb education to boys and girls aged 2½ to 11 years.
